Course: Physiotherapy management of people with Parkinson's Disease: an update

This course is appropriate for AHPRA qualified physiotherapists only*


This is a practical one-day course aimed at physiotherapists who manage people with Parkinson’s Disease. It will provide participants with an in depth understanding of the specific movement disorders associated with Parkinson’s disease, and their resulting impact on the individual’s function and participation. Latest research related to medical management and physiotherapy management of gait and balance difficulties in people with Parkinson’s disease will be covered. The workshop aims to help physiotherapists translate the latest knowledge to clinical application, including assessment techniques, management of a variety of disorders, and service delivery. It will include practical hands-on problem solving with individuals with Parkinson’s disease, and will facilitate participants to reflect on their current practice to promote optimal function in their patients.

Physiotherapists who work with people with mild to moderate Parkinson's disease would benefit from attending this course.
