Workshop: Paediatric Orthopaedics Workshop

This workshop aims to upskill physiotherapist in the assessment of children with orthopaedic complaints. This workshop will develop the clinicians understanding of the management of common orthopaedic conditions in childhood. It will also provide the clinician with practical assessment and treatment tools relevant to children with common orthopaedic conditions.

Learning Outcomes
The participant of the paediatric orthopaedic workshop will:
1.       demonstrate an understanding of the normal variance in development to enable assessment of conditions such as toe walking, genu varum/valgum, in-toeing, knock knees and flat feet
2.       have an understanding of musculoskeletal orthopaedic conditions presenting in the growing child and the ability to select appropriate assessments to guide management.
3.       be able to analyse assessment findings and plan an intervention.
