This is an advanced course for pelvic floor and continence physiotherapists on the assessment and treatment of male incontinence and pelvic pain. Topics covered will include: anatomy of the male pelvic floor, diagnosis and management of prostate cancer by a urologist, physiotherapy assessment of the male pelvic floor, treatment of post-prostatectomy incontinence, pelvic floor muscle training in men, pelvic pain in the male pelvis, erectile dysfunction.
Completing this course will enable you to: - Explain male pelvic anatomy and physiology in relation to the genito-urinary system - Describe prostate surgery - List causes for urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction following prostate surgery - Describe physiotherapy assessment following prostate surgery - Describe physiotherapy treatment for urinary incontinence following prostate surgery
