Lecture:  An introduction to the management of Hypertonicity

Distinguishing the different forms of hypertonicity in patients following stroke and brain injury. Use objective assessments, outcome measures and clinical reasoning strategies to provide effective management of hypertonicity. Includes video case examples and a question and answer session at the conclusion of the lecture.

Micky Nascimento graduated from Physiotherapy in Lisbon Portugal. She has been working for the past 28 years at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, spending the last 20 years in the Brain Injury Unit. Micky has played a key role in the development of the Hypertonicity Clinic at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2008. She has been working as the physiotherapist for the clinic ever since, where she also provides consultancy and education to other therapists state-wide.
